greasy food, and greasy zombies.

Spend my evening back home going to coffee house and having a blast with my buddies, eating greasy, heart stopping food. One of my favorite things in the world. Followed by another of my favoring things, playing Left 4 Dead with Ms. Presnell. Don't get me wrong, college is nice, but nothing beats spending time with my lady, and friends that just can't be matched.

Tomorrow, I'm going to a music festival in the mountains (well a different part of the mountains) and it's going to be a blast. Can't wait to see Jamie play! Ah, well it's time to go to bed, night!

second year of college

starts tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited. I'm also confident. Portuguese will be a very interesting language to learn, and my roommate speaks a little too, so the plan is we will help each other by trying our best to speak it in everyday conversation. Statistics is going to go a lot better this year. No maybe, it will. I think i will be able to get through humanities because the ancient world can be interesting if you really focus on it. Intro to Creative Writing is going to be my favorite class though, because it's with my (so far) favorite professor, and I get to write. Fun fun fun.

Also, my lady made a very nice cozy for her PSP. It's adorable!

have fun kids, be kind.

if this isn't nice, what is?

i am happy. and it's wonderful. i have a girlfriend that is my best friend and is just so fantastic in so so so sooooo many ways. i have great friends who get me and make me laugh. good books are always waiting to be found. i have great taste in music. i'm learning not to take things so seriously and it's nice. i move back to school saturday and i'm excited. i enjoy where i go to school and have a pretty snazzy roomate. i have lots of blankets. ellen page. as well as betty white. my dancing skills are as great as ever. adventure time is my favorite cartoon in a long time. i'm actually starting to gain a want of and sense of independence. i have an actual idea of what i want to do with my life.

my point is, my life is good. and this was just my way of taking mr. vonnegut's advice and noticing.

(also, I posted this video on facebook, but it's just really nice.)

i would like...

to own a bookstore. that is actually a life long dream of mine, to just spend my days in a used bookstore, sipping on coffee, as ms. Presnell also sells her crafty little cute things as well. that would be nice.

this song is also nice. :)

"come down now", but we'll stay.

we tied ourselves to the ends of kites,
said goodbye to summer nights.
our morning jackets kept us warm,
as we passed through a night storm.
with hands held tight we sang out loud,
breaking through each darkened cloud.
everyone else below seemed dead,
as i looked to you and said
"we'll go down in history dear,
shoot down the sky with all our fears."
the world looked perfect from up there,
with us aligned with the night air.
you laughed a bit as the sun shown,
and we never landed, we were home.

ten bands.

lame top ten list! YEAH!

1. Pink Floyd. A band I can constantly go back to and enjoy. One of the few bands I can use the term "experience with".

2. Neutral Milk Hotel. Jeff Mangum is an amazing artist. So sad they aren't a band anymore. But everything they did is brilliant. And I enjoy his voice immensely.

3. The Decemberists. Colin Meloy is the best musical storyteller I have ever heard. They can only be described as epic, beautiful, and revolutionary. Yes, all those.

4. Holy Ghost Tent Revival. I've seen these guys a few times, and it's always a rumpus. It's absolutely necessary to dance.

5. Bright Eyes. Hands down favorite band to listen to when I'm sad. Mr. Oberst is an extraordinary poet, albeit a depressing one.

6. The Avett Brothers. More beard wearing, banjo pickin' good times.

7. Modest Mouse. Lyrically thoughtful and always intense. Isaac Brock has a way of making his emotions contagious, no matter what the emotion is.

8. Tilly & the Wall. Cute, and they have a tap dancer. Oh yes.

9. Iron & Wine. Sam Beam's soulful, relaxing voice combined with his gentle guitar strumming is just beautiful, and bonus points for one near perfect beard. The Trapeze Swinger is one of the best songs I have ever heard.

10. Arcade Fire. I've just gotten into this band, but they're sooooo good. Nice night time drivin' music, and it helps me think.

sundays.

as long as i can remember, i have had trouble sleeping on sundays. i don't know why, and now i don't even question it. i used to think it was some problem i had with god or something, but i know it isn't that miraculous. so come eleven o'clock, when i'd like to go to bed, i'll just stare at the black space i hope is still my ceiling when i turn the lights off, and eventually turn the lights back on, and watch television. maybe even write a poem! how exciting.

also, i am very excited about the third chapter of this. get it get it, mr. hertzfeldt.
