those old familiar days.

we sipped upon tea to make daydreams sweet,
and kept dinosaur socks wrapping our feet.

cards we would play out in the grass,
and sometimes a breeze or mustache would pass.

we waited for fall to change all the leaves,

as shorts turned to pants and we lengthened our sleeves.
on somedays we’d laugh on our time well spent,
as owls would follow wherever we went.

singing catchy songs as crazy as we could,

we saw bowler hat troll, chopping up wood.
a monster found it’s way onto my head,
just as we were preparing for bed.

so we gave him so tea, we all said good night,
wrapped up in blankets, and turned off the light.
